There are several classes of metabolic diseases. Diabetes and obesity, can be induced by high fat diet, chemical agents or in transgenic animals. Disease progression in animal models of metabolic disorders is monitored by specialized metabolic tests for example - an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). In addition to diabetes and obesity models, SIA’s capabilities enable the establishment of liver fibrosis, renal dysfunction models, genetic models of metabolic diseases and more.
Study design and readout parameters are fitted to your technology requirements and the disease model. Samples can be isolated for further analyses including histology, serum and tissue biomarker analyses, gene expression and more.
